migration to new server with new IP questions

Postby akoei » Thu Aug 07, 2008 12:15 pm

I read some posts about migration scalix. It looks two ways:
1. copy whole scalix folder
2. exp/imp mailbox

Since our current Scalix has some issue, like SMTPD partially aborted, etc, we would like to fresh install a new Scalix on a new OS, then transfer user data. My concern is:
1. When using sxmboxexp/sxmboximp, do I have to create user account first?
2. Since smboxexp/sxmboximp tied to user, then how to transfer group info?
3. Same as 2, how to transfer resources info?
4. Same as 2, how to transfer plug-ins?
5. Same as 2, how to transfer public folder?
6. I have set up some global email forwarding rule, then how to transfer rules?

Thanks, any hints are welcome.

Yes.

2. Since smboxexp/sxmboximp tied to user, then how to transfer group info?

What do you mean?

3. Same as 2, how to transfer resources info?

Transfer the resource.

4. Same as 2, how to transfer plug-ins?

Plug ins? You mean like an Outlook plug in? That's nothing to do with the user data.

5. Same as 2, how to transfer public folder?

Per the man page:

Code: Select all

sxmboxexp -p

6. I have set up some global email forwarding rule, then how to transfer rules?

Per the man page:

Code: Select all

sxmboxexp -c

will transfer user auto-actions. By "global", do you mean everybody gets it (-c will work), or do you mean that you're using Service Router rulesets (copy them instead) or something completely different?
