Scalix Web Access: message access/login error

Postby newind » Thu Jul 24, 2008 2:02 am

Hello,

I'm new to Scalix mail server and scalix web access client.

I've been having trouble with one user of Scalix Web Access client- he cannot update his messages. What I mean is, the changes he does in SWA does not get reflected in the server. Thus, even after deleting some files, the files remain to be there after logging off then logging in again to SWA.

Worse is that after some time, the messages do not load anymore with the message "The message could not be loaded due to connection loss." Once, this message comes out and I log off then re-login to the account, I get the following message: "An error has occurred. Contact your e-mail administrator if the problem persists."

I've tried resetting the SIS index through the administration console, but no success there either.
Worse, now, my admin profile is showing the same symptoms. I've even tried deleting the user with the intention of adding him back later, but even deletion doesn't work.

Other details:
Software versions: SWA Version 11.4.0.11344; Platform Version 11.4.0.1922; Server Version 11.4.0.11669,
Browser: Firefox 3.0.1;
OS: Windows XP SP2

Help needed ASAP. Thanks.

Greetings,

I recently had the same or a similar problem to the one newind describes above with only one of my users on a server with over 40 mailboxes. Resetting of the SIS indexing for that user fixed the issue, it took maybe 2 hours for the reset to be complete and normal operations in the SWA to resume for that user. ( i wonder whether newind gave it enough time to complete the reset..)

Some details :
The errors were a popup with "Methodname=send" when trying to forward an email from the SWA. After 5-10 minutes of having the SWA open we would get "An error has occured.."blah and the window would close on clicking OK. You would then not be able to log back in for and hour or two, and when you did so any read emails would again appear unread, and deleted emails would be back etc.
The user was using firefox from a Mac, all latest updates.

Cheers,
Ben
