Anyone gotten Kontact to work with CalDAV?

Hey all,

Has anyone gotten Kontact to work with 11.3 calendaring? I thought Kontact had a CalDAV plugin, I'm I wrong?

I've gotten evolution and sunbird to connect and view the calendar, however I can't create new calendar entries with them, is this normal? I've fiddled with these clients for some time now, and still no dice.

My progess in this : Evolution IMAP support works correctly, CalDAV is unusable. I can't see anything from Scalix with Evolution. The connector is too old, it's unusable too.
CalDAV support works with Sunbird/Lightning well. I just enter the CalDAV string the Thunderbird, and it works well.
It is http://scalix.company.com/api/dav/Calen ... m/Calendar

But I like Evolution, and I regret that I can't use it's CalDAV support. Connector would be better of course, I hope it will evolve too.

I'm thinking about switching my Linux users (including myself) over to Thunderbird and Lightning. The Scalix Connector for Evolution is far too old. It doesn't support the newer releases of Evo, and it's too unstable.

I think that I can do everything with Thunderbird/Lightning/LDAP addressbooks that I can do with Evolution.

I thought that too, but the Sunbird/Lightning is not enough mature for the migration. I tried to switch to Thunderbird for only mail, but Thunderbird needs improvments on emailing too. But Lightning is like a beta, it needs time to become a real alternative in my opinion. And only if the CalDAV can be used, Evolution would be fine too. Unfortunaltely I can't make it work in it. Besides in Lightning the connection works well.

I don't think delegated calendars work through caldav yet?

Honestly I'm a Linux user, and I don't want/can't use Outlook. I'm interested any solution what doesn't need to install Windows and Outlook, but it seems there's no other option. IMAP can't be useable because there's no calendars, CalDAV is unusable too. In Evolution it doesn't show, in Thunderbird it's frozen, so unusable. :(

What about the web client? It's very much a Outlook-look-alike, doing calendaring and email.

Yes, it's usable fortunately. But it would be good if I have an offline version, what I can use on my laptop if I'm not connected, and others need localized access to the calendar, and the webclient is english.

I regret that Other Users access is not yet supported for CalDAV. I expect that to be fixed for the next release.

Regarding the Wiki at
http://www.scalix.com/wiki/index.php?ti ... -01-CALDAV

would it be possible for someone to change the wording. To be fair I only have myself to blame because when I read the document I only skimmed through it.

I feel that the wording <UserID> is a bit misleading. I know that it explains it in the next line that it is the email address but in my defence my eyes were just drawn to the code blocks.

I thought that the wording in this thread was much better with the user@domain

It might help other people who don't read it line by line. Maybe I'm just lazy!

Hi all

We recently installed Scalix v 11.3 on a CentOS box and have been testing it for the last week or so, and have been testing version 11.2 before that.

We are trying to get iCal to go on a Mac running Leopard using the suggested connection "string" mentioned earlier in this thread, but it is coming up with the following error:

Error while refreshing
Request for account "Scalix" failed.
The server responded with
"HTTP/1.0 400 Bad Request

Accessing a calendar using the iCalendar option in Thunderbird (with lightning add-on) also doesn't work.
Using the CalDAV option in Thunderbird (with lightning add-on) works.

Any suggestions?
