Yes, but scalix still runs LDAP of it's own. So try the ldapsearch -x on your mail server.

Can you provide some more details as to how your system is setup?

I am having this same exact problem after following your guide.

I am running Gentoo with LDAP/Samba on one server, and on that same server I have CentOS5 installed running Scalix(In a VMware)

On the CentOS box I do not have the ldapsearch executable. I do have /opt/scalix/bin/omldapsearch which doesn't seem to return anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I also did make a modification to the Mailnode attribuite on the Gentoo LDAP side. It was set to mailserver, domain and I changed it to just be the name of the actual mailnode. Could this have something to do with it?

EDIT:

I am able to browse the Scalix LDAP using a software client and connecting anonymously. Listed I do see the user accounts that were synced. Any attributes I should pay attention to?

Another EDIT:

If I disable TLS/SSL with LDAP it works as exspected. I was getting
(TLS negotiation failure)
on the LDAP server each time I tried to log in to webmail.

If I figure out how to get it working WITH SSL, I'll post that as well.
