M00021 Error

Hello everybody,

after digging around and tried out everything that was mentioned in the several postings I found regarding M00021 Errors in the Log-Files - I did not manage to solve my problems.

I installed 11.0.4 on an OSS 10.1 box just for testing some weeks ago, I didn't do anything with scalix before. Yesterday, I intend to put some more users on the box (5 insead of one ). I saw that there was a 11.1. version out and I updated to this version.

From know on I see these M00021 (Could not connect to database) Errors in the logfiles
when using SWA.

The concrete Messages look like this one:

scalix-api.log:2007-06-12 13:13:33,468 ERROR [Mailbox.checkForTables:1523] MAILBOX - clientId: EFE446F41A98AFF2E9AB646B8AC43C81, user: xxx@xxx.de - Error (M00021) checking for tables.
scalix-api.log:M00021 could not connect to database

All services are up and running
Postgres ist there, Passwords are OK, Hosts and IPs are set up well ...

The Mailbox is a little bit bigger i think so about 2 GB in about 20 Folders

It might by possible that the database will not start. The log file:

/var/opt/scalix/??/postgres/pgstartup.log

may give more informations.

Simply recreate the database manually should help solve the problem. First delete
/var/opt/scalix/sl/postgres/data folder and follow the steps below to recreate the
database manually:

cd /opt/scalix-postgres/bin
./sxpsql-init
./sxpsql-setpwd yourdatabasepassword
./sxpsql-whitelist 192.168.0.162

Note: The IP above should be that of your Scalix Server instead.

Reconfiguring the Scalix DB component with the Scalix installer this should configure PostgreSQL now.

is empty

I did the reconfiguration of the Scalix DB component before I filed this request, without success.

But I will try out the manual configuration as soon as I am back from a meeting I have to atend right now.

I'll keep you updated.
