Issues Installing Scalix on Debian 7

Postby martinroman » Wed Jun 24, 2015 3:52 pm

Hello,

I have a few issues about installing Scalix on Debian 7.

I use the following info to install Scalix community version on Debian 7:

https://github.com/scalix/Debian-installer

My server has a FQDN
Oracle Java 7

After fixing a few issues with sendmail the installation process continue without errors until the installer asks the following:

Please enter the external ip address of your Scalix box? == Which info should be placed here? - The IP address of my server ? 192.168.1.10 for example ?

A few seconds later the installation has ended, so reboot the server and go to:

Admin Console: http://mail.myserver.com/sac

A popup window appears, which is the correct login user:
sxadmin, sxdadmin@myserver.com or sxadmin/myserver.com ???

In my case I can not login the admin console with any of above credentials.

Which steps would be wrong?

Any help and assistance will be appreciated.

Martin

Hi Martin ,
Can you run "omshowu -n sxadmin"?
The output will show you Internet address of the scalix admin, It will also show whether password for sxadmin is set or not. If it is set then its the same password you used during installation. Try logging in through this same internet address and password. It has to work.

Hi Martin,

Could you also show the output of
omstat -s

and

omstat -a

I saw some scenarios, where not all scalix services where started correctly. Please also check this.

Hello,

Thanks to all for your posts and help, unfortunately I could not login as Scalix Admin.

If I enter all of above commands as a root user I get for example:

-bash: omshowu: command not found

However if I try to find the file omshowu I get:

root@mailserver:~# find / -name omshowu
/var/opt/scalix/mr/s/release.sys/pam.d/omshowu
/var/opt/scalix/mr/s/sys/pam.d/omshowu
/opt/scalix/template/release.sys/pam.d/omshowu
/opt/scalix/bin/omshowu

As you may see I am new to Scalix.

Should I run omshowu -n sxadmin, omstat -s, omstat -a as a root user?
Where should I run above commands?

Any feedback will be appreciated.

Regards,

Martin

Hi Martin,

Sorry,I should have mentioned to export the scalix bin path:
/opt/scalix/bin/

If you didn't export the path, you need to put the path in front of the command like this:

/opt/scalix/bin/omstat -s

and

/opt/scalix/bin/omstat -a

Those commands need to be run as the root user.

Hello,

I installed Centos 6.6-64bits on my server, installed Oracle Java 1.8, httpd and a few libraries.

Then I downloaded Scalix bin file and follow installation steps and everything was OK, my first Scalix server worked perfectly.

Thank you again to all people for your help and assistance.

Martin
