PDL with external recipients

Postby Hiob86 » Wed Jun 24, 2015 8:16 am

Hi,

I'm trying to create a public distribution list (PDL) with Scalix, including external recipients. I tried it with the CLI commands, but did not get it working.
Is it possible to create such a PDL with external recipients and how should I do it?

Many thanks,
Hiob

Hi,

external addresses should be created as Contacts (aka Internet-User) first.
Once this is done you can add them with omaddpdln the same way as local users.

Hi Dirk,

Thanks for the feedback. Not the answer I was hoping for, but it works.

Many thanks,
Florian

I just checked "man omaddpdln" which mentions an easier method, which I didnt remember (anymore?):

Code: Select all

If the O/R Address in the example above is a user with internet address support@company.com and the user entry is not in the directory to cross reference, then type:

              omaddpdln   -l "Company Lawyers/ny,legal"
                          -x -n "Jay Armstrong/paris,legal,internet (support@company.com)"

So it seems to be possible to avoid the creation of a contact.

Actually, I tried this, but the couldn't find the mail node. I think you have to create the internet user first and can add the user than, using this command.

The mailnode should exist on the system. In most cases it would be "/internet" or "/internet,tnef" (see "omshowrt -q all").

Code: Select all

[root@host ~]# omaddpdl -l dl1/mailnode
The public distribution list was added successfully
[root@host ~]# omaddpdln -l dl1 -x -n "Dirk Ahrnke/internet (dirk@company.com)"
The name was successfully added to the list
[root@host ~]# omshowpdln -l dl1
Dirk Ahrnke /internet (HPMEXT1|dirk@company.com)

Hey,

thanks for the answer, I had a mistake in my syntax. I will give it a try on Friday, when I have access to my test installation, again.

Many thanks,
Florian
