It seems that search doesn't work for calendar items: is that true or do I have a misconfiguration?
It would be nice to be able to search in calendar, isn't it a need for anybody working with an electronic calendar?

You can search Mail, Calendar, notes. contacts, etc from Outlook.
In SWA you can search Mail, notes and contacts, but not Calendar. You also can not display multiple calendars side-by-side as you can do in OL. So, SWA will do 90% of what OL does, but not everything. That's probably OK for now, since for everything else it's pretty good for a web based client application.
