Evolution support...

Postby Ata Rasekhi » Wed Sep 28, 2005 7:57 pm

Evolution is currently supported as an IMAP client which allows Scalix users to get to their email using the Evolution client. Scalix is also working on a new Scalix Connect for Evolution product which will become available with the next major release of Scalix (1Q06). Scalix Connect for Evolution will allow Scalix users to access their email, calendar and contacts using the Evolution 2.4 client.

Novell is currently working on Evolution for Windows. Hopefully Scalix will offer their Evolution connector for this future version as well as the gnome version. If Sun Open Office becomes a choice over MS office and you don't own MS Exchange, you will not have Outlook for your users. Evolution for Windows may fill this gap.

Is the 1Q06 release of the Community edition going to include 25 Enterprise users like the current release does?

Yes, the Community Edition of the Scalix 1Q06 release will also include 25 "enterprise" users.

Could you tell us when exactly could we expect this Evolution Connect be available ?
And if you plan support to new releases of Thunderbird that should support calendars to use it as a groupware client, and what about kdepim KMail ?
Thank you very much for your work... and keep it so highly available !!!
