Webmail, IMAP and Outlook Connect login not working anymore

Hi,

since a few days i can't login anymore... but SAC, SMTP and POP3 is still working!

any ideas?

Restart the server. If it's still not running, you need to force the Remote Client Interface back on. (The server is all currently running, you just can't sign in, you aren't losing mail or anything REALLY bad.)

If that doesn't fix it, stop the server using "omshut"

then type "omreset -o off all" This will force all services to reset themselves in the off status.

Then restart Scalix with "omrc"

If I was to guess, there was a power outage on your server, and one of the files was locked open.

This thread was very helpful. To summarize what I did in case anyone else has a similar issue.
I am running CentOS 4.2 and Scalix 10.0.0.354.

Power failed to the server.
Server restarted.
People were unable to login via web or imap.
turned out that time was out of sync even though ntp was installed and configured.
Turned out that default gateway was incorrect.
shutdown Scalix using the omshut command
did the forced reset of services using omreset -o off all
fixed the default gateway using the system-config-network command
restarted the network using /etc/init.d/network restart
fixed the date using date -u MMddhhmmCCYY command (using the actual date of course, but the format is a bit unusual, I thought this was necessary because some systems I have worked with if the server date is too different from what the other time server is reporting, ntp will not make the adjustment.
restarted the ntp service using /etc/init.d/ntpd restart
verified it was syncing with a server using ntpstat command
restarted the tomcat service using /etc/init.d/scalix-tomcat restart
restarted the scalix service using /etc/init.d/scalix restart
waited a few minutes and tested it and it worked. Hope this is helpful to someone else.
