Scalix comes pre-configured on the Xandros Server, available from Scalix's mother company Xandros. The Xandros and Scalix products are a great combination for small businesses as both offer power without complexity. Xandros Server running Scalix provides a powerful and easy-to-use alternative to a Windows-based messaging system. An all-in-one groupware solution, it is quick and easy to deploy. Xandros Server includes the features of Scalix Community Edition and can be upgraded to Small Business Edition through a license key, providing addtional users and the advanced featureset of Scalix SBE, including TNEF support for Exchange interoperability, the Recovery Folder for instant recovery of deleted items and optional support for Scalix wireless solutions. Also available is the optional Scalix Migration Tool for automated migration of user data from Exchange.
Consolidated system monitoring and workflow automation
The Xandros Server, built on top of Debian Linux, provides consolidated system monitoring and workflow automation to address issues normally encountered when administering small and medium IT systems. It presents a simplified, centralized approach to remotely administering users and services through the all-graphical Xandros Management Console (xMC). Xandros Server provides a unique plug-in architecture that enables Scalix administration to be integrated within xMC, so the Scalix software can be managed just like any other Xandros service. It is compatible with any existing Windows domain and networking infrastructure, offering a plug-and-play replacement to Windows servers.
