feature or bug? new users not in system addressbook

Postby jdell » Tue Jul 11, 2006 7:16 pm

Hi,

I've added some new users through the scalix web admin, and I noticed they are not showing in the SYSTEM addressbook with Scalix Connect in outlook 2003. I tried re-downloading the system addressbook, etc, and waited a day but they still didn't show up.

But then, after rebooting the Scalix server, they now show up.

Is this a feature or a bug?j avascript:emoticon(':D')

If it is a feature, it would be nice to have a way in scalix admin to force the addressbook to update.

Also, to workaround, what service needs to be restarted so I don't have to reboot?

Thanks!
John

There is a lag time for users to appear. There is a CDA Server process that runs by default every five minutes that updates the directory index. If you want the update to appear immediately you can run omexeccda.

However, you will not see the new entries in outlook until you exit and restart outlook. Neither a bug or a feature -- just the way it works.

Don

Ok, thanks for the explanation. I must have not restarted outlook. I just tried a new test account and it worked as you described (after restarting outlook).

John
