If you’ve already invested in Evolution client applications, you likely want to protect that investment. Or, since Evolution is a Linux-based desktop client, you may be considering it for your Linux desktop users, such as your engineering staff. Our Evolution connector, Scalix Connect for Evolution, natively supports IMAP and iCal and enables the full range of functionality offered by Evolution.

We provide rich interoperability between Evolution, Outlook, and Scalix Web Access, regardless of desktop OS or browser. This enables users to work interchangeably between their web and desktop clients for a fully synchronized view of their mail, calendar and contact data. You don’t have to retrain Evolution users when you migrate their mailboxes to the Scalix Mail Server, as their Evolution functionality is not impacted.

Evolution operates in two modes, depending on Scalix user type. It provides email and personal calendaring to Standard Users. All of the Evolution group calendaring and collaboration features are available to Premium Users.
