Seamless BlackBerry access over wireless networks solidifies Scalix as complete alternative to Microsoft Exchange
NEW YORK, NY —October 13, 2009 — Scalix, the award-winning Linux email, group calendaring, and messaging subsidiary of Xandros, Inc., today released Scalix Connect for BlackBerry Enterprise Server, implementing BlackBerry’s protocol for enhanced message synchronization over wireless networks. Together with the recent implementation of the Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync Protocol in Scalix ActiveSync 1.0, the provision of push-based BlackBerry access solidifies Scalix leadership as the complete alternative to Microsoft Exchange, including a full range of mobility solutions.
Scalix Connect for BlackBerry Enterprise Server provides push email, wireless contact, calendar and task synchronization, meeting scheduling, out of office, and remote address book/global address list lookup. Scalix now offers a complete suite of mobility solutions for its Small Business, Enterprise, and Hosting editions with Scalix ActiveSync for iPhones and Windows Mobile phones, Scalix Connect for BlackBerry, and the Scalix Mobile Web Client. Together they enable Scalix users to communicate via all popular mobile devices without the need for client side installs.

With the implementation of native BlackBerry support, Scalix now provides today's enterprise users 'on the go' the ultimate in mobile client freedom of choice," said Andreas Typaldos, CEO of Xandros. "Scalix mobile users can choose whatever tool they need, from the BlackBerry to the iPhone, to any device with mobile web access."
