Scalix Receives Top Rating from InfoWorld Test Center Editors and Analysts for Linux-based Email and Calendaring System
SAN MATEO, CA — MARCH 28, 2006 — Scalix, the leading provider of enterprise email and calendaring on Linux, today announced that the latest version of Scalix’s flagship email and calendaring system on Linux, Scalix 10, received an “Excellent” rating from InfoWorld Media Group, responsible for delivering award-winning technology and product news, research and analysis to the IT community for over 25 years.
A rating of “Excellent” recognizes companies whose products are reviewed and receive a score of 8.7 or higher based on a list of criteria most relevant to enterprise buying decisions. Receiving an “Excellent” rating assures IT professionals of a product’s quality and market readiness before they make a purchase.
According to its review of Scalix 10, published in the March 27, 2006 issue of Infoworld, “Scalix 10 is a proven mail solution with strong support for in-place systems, including Active Directory, and exceptional compatibility with Outlook. Its AJAX Web client lacks little, making the transition from desktop e-mail apps transparent. The calendar and scheduling also work seamlessly among different e-mail clients and systems. Furthermore, an AJAX admin console eases system management.”
The review also went on to say that “Scalix 10 impressed me with stellar Outlook and Evolution connectors along with how far its taken AJAX Web development. The company also seems to understand the infrastructure needs of enterprises, including coexisting with existing mail systems… Scalix proved to me it knows its way around MAPI better than any non-Microsoft vendor I’ve encountered. Combine that with SWA’s rich functionality and the product’s Linux and OpenMail underpinning, and Scalix delivers an industrial-strength solution.”
