Linux Email Leader Scalix Strengthens Management Team With Three New Executives
Experienced Executives to Lead EMEA Sales, Worldwide Marketing and Finance
SAN MATEO, CA — MAY 4, 2005 — Scalix, the leading provider of email and calendaring software on Linux, today announced the appointment of three industry veterans to the company's management team. They are Jim Docherty, Vice President, EMEA Sales; Hal Steger, Vice President, Marketing; and Walter Lim, Vice President, Finance.

All three executives will report directly to Winokur. They are:
JIM DOCHERTY, VICE PRESIDENT, EMEA SALES
Docherty is responsible for expanding Scalix's presence in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Before Scalix, Docherty spent over 20 years in the IT industry. He developed NetIQ's EMEA business from $0, growing it to an annualized turnover of $30 million, as Vice President, EMEA Sales. Before NetIQ, Docherty held management positions in sales and business development within Microsoft Ltd., was Managing Director of the International Computer Group, a Paris based network of resellers in over 40 countries (now operating as Computacenter), and was Regional Director for Computacenter in Scotland. Docherty earned his BSc in Technology & Business Studies from the University of Strathclyde.
HAL STEGER, VICE PRESIDENT, MARKETING
Steger has over 20 years of experience in bringing to market high-growth, innovative software for IT and business professionals. Prior to Scalix, he managed worldwide marketing at Oblicore, a leading provider of enterprise applications that manage service level and outsourcing agreements. Before Oblicore, he co-founded and served as Vice President of Marketing at two successful startups: RubiconSoft, a pioneer of a new category of real-time enterprise applications, and Rubric, where he positioned the company as the leader in the new category of enterprise marketing automation, prior to a successful acquisition by Broadbase (now Kana) in 2000. Prior to Rubric, Steger held executive and senior marketing roles at Oracle, Uniface/Compuware and several high profile Silicon Valley startups. He holds a B.S. degree in Computer Science and Economics from the University of Michigan, and an M.S.I.A. (MBA) from Carnegie-Mellon's Tepper School of Business.
WALTER LIM, VICE PRESIDENT, FINANCE
Lim has over 20 years of experience in managing financial operations for public technology companies. Prior to joining Scalix, Lim was the Corporate Controller and Senior Director of Finance Operations for Informatica with worldwide responsibility for accounting operations of the $220 million software company, including Sarbanes-Oxley 404 compliance. Previously, he was a Group Controller for Synopsys, Inc. He also spent over 13 years at IBM, holding a variety of financial management positions in both domestic and overseas subsidiaries. He holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business as well as Masters and B.A. degrees from the University of California Los Angeles and Berkeley.
Scalix released the newest version of its Linux messaging platform earlier this year and won the messaging category at LinuxWorld in February. The company's email and calendaring software is in wide deployment by customers in a broad cross-section of industry and government in North America, Europe and Asia/Pacific. Scalix's recently announced Partner Network is rapidly growing as resellers, systems integrators and VARs respond to customer demand for Linux solutions.
