SAN MATEO, CA — OCTOBER 22, 2003 — Scalix Corporation, fast emerging as the leader of enterprise-class messaging solutions for Linux, today announced that entrepreneur and industry veteran Mark Leslie has joined its board of directors. “Mark successfully led Veritas from a small business to one of the largest and most respected enterprise software companies in the world,” said Julie Farris, Scalix’s founder and CEO. “I am excited to be able to tap into Mark’s deep experience in managing a company through all stages of growth, as Scalix pursues its mission to become the leading messaging provider in the Linux market.”

“Scalix is well positioned at the intersection of two major markets: Linux, the fastest growing server platform and enterprise email, the most important medium for business communications today,” said Leslie. “They are off to a strong start with a veteran team with deep domain expertise in messaging, a proven technology platform and top tier financial backing. I am looking forward to helping Scalix meet the high expectations it has set for itself in serving its customers.”
