Linux Enterprise Messaging Company Scalix Corporation Selected as a “Company to Watch;” CEO Julie Farris Honored as “Trailblazer”
SAN MATEO, CA — SEPTEMBER 30, 2003 — Scalix Corporation, a leading vendor of enterprise-class messaging solutions for Linux, has been selected as one of four Companies to Watch by the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs (FWE), In addition, Scalix CEO and founder Julie Hanna Farris was honored with the FWE’s Trailblazer award, in recognition of Scalix’s $13.2 million Series A funding, one of the largest Series A rounds completed by a software company in recent times.

According to FWE CEO Susan Hailey, the women entrepreneurs selected to receive the FWE 2003 Trailblazer Award raised at least $1 million in venture capital funding and exemplify the spirit of entrepreneurship that typifies the business environment in Silicon Valley and the technology and life sciences industries across the country. “In spite of the tough economy in the last couple of years, that ‘can do’ attitude is still creating viable companies.”
